The Theater an der Wien in Winter
Carl Wenzel Zajicek, 1923
Dear friends,
It has been a long, tough year for all of us. AsĀ it comes to an end, with hopefully a little light at the end of the tunnel, I wanted to give you a brief update about the Orchestra…
We set out at the start of this year with the plan to share the extraordinary life and music of Beethoven over the course of eleven immersive events, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of his birth. We managed to put on the first two – covering the story of Beethoven’s youth in Bonn and his conquest of Vienna (pictured above) as a young man – before the winter of COVID-19 set in. The remaining nine songs, for the time being, remain unsung…
I am, however, optimistic that when the time is right, we will be able to resume our activities and give Beethoven’s life and music the celebration it truly deserves. If you would like to hear about the Orchestra’s future plans as they evolve, please do sign up to our newsletter below.
In the meantime, may I wish you a safe, festive holiday and a brighter, more positive year ahead.
With very best wishes,
Nicholas Little,
Founder and Artistic Director
