Our first trip to York Hall celebrated two pieces full of fiery magic in very different ways. Beethoven’s red-hot masterpiece of triumph over fate that is his Symphony no 5 was joined by the 20th-century sparks of beauty found in Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos.
